2 Months Old!

It is hard to believe, but my sweet pea is 2 months old! I don't know where the time has gone, it feels like the days are just flying by. I hope this isn't how the rest of our life goes! :) I took the little man to the doctor and he is doing great! Unfortunately this trip was the start of his vaccines and it broke my heart a little bit having to watch him get the shots -- though I think the stay in the NICU broke me in and I handled it better than I thought. He is a total pork chop and growing just as he should! He is starting to hold his head up and look around, basically he is too cute for words!

His Stats...
Weight: 8lb. 9oz.
Length: 21 inches

He is in the 50th percentile across the board! Way to go Connor Francis!

A Sweet Smile

So the other day I was holding Connor up and telling him he was so cute I was going to eat him. I also told him he shouldn't be quite so cute because Momma didn't know what to do about that. Well, he looked at me his eyes and face lit up into the most beautiful smile I have ever seen. That right there could be reason enough for anyone to become a parent. He smiled at his momma and he looked at me like I was so special and exciting. To say it melted my heart does not even begin to describe the feeling. Oh, I just love that little baby! He has done it a few more times and it is more and more beautiful each time I see it. He threw in a few smiles for his Granny too...probably because she was an angel and stayed up with and held (yes held him) all night while he slept so that momma could sleep to! I don't think I have enough thank you's in me. Hopefully one of these days I will be able to sneak a smile in on camera too!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Whew! We have been BUSY this past week in the Johnson house! My mom has been here and it has been great. We have almost everything done in the nursery and it looks great. I said it looks just the way a little baby boy nursery should. So, I have been super slack at posting. So get ready for a handful!

We just want to wish everyone a wonderful Valentine's Day! It was so wonderful to have little sweet pea here this year to celebrate! We also heard the wonderful news that our friends welcomed their little girl, Halee Rae, into the world on Valentine's Day! Congrats! We also have a few other friends who will welcome a little one in September, Josh and Stacy! Congrats to you two!
A few weeks ago I entered a contest on the Hot Mama Designs web page. You had to comment on your favorite wedding or Valentine's Day memory or what you are doing this year for Valentine's Day. I was so excited, I checked back every few days to scope out the competition :) I was so surprised on Sunday when I got the email saying I had one! I never win anything so I was thrilled. I decided to look back and see exactly what I had written. I was actually pretty impressed with it and I feel as though it says exactly what I wanted to say for Valentine's Day. So, with a picture of my sweet baby, here is what I wrote.

Don't worry he wasn't really watching tv...I just didn't get any great shots in his little outfit!
All tuckered out! He was so tired after hanging out, being cute all day, and opening presents!
What a wonderful idea -- thanks for sharing your sweet wedding memories!

I will just never forget the way my husband looked waiting for me to get down the aisle. I was nervous until I saw him and knew that I could do anything with him by my side...

I am thankful this year on Valentines Day for my family. We just had a beautiful baby boy, Connor, on December 17th. I was admitted to the hospital 8 weeks before my January 27th due date and made it four weeks on bed rest with Pre-eclampsia before he was delivered via an emergency c-section. I just remember being so scared, not knowing what he would need and whether or not he would be okay. Once he entered the world and gave out a cry I knew I had all I needed in this world. My sweet husband next to me, our sweet baby boy and our two dogs. We spent another four weeks in he NICU with Connor and the whole experience completely humbled me. I am just so thankful this year to be a new momma, wife, friend and daughter.
Happy Valentines Day to you and your family :)

Earlier that day I had gotten the NAPP (Neo-Natal Assesment) profile for Connor in the mail. They are special nurses who were with us at his delivery and their first notes were "baby limp and blue at birth..." and I was just shocked. I had asked Bj a few days earlier what he remembered from the day and he said he just remembers me asking over and over why I hadn't heard him cry and whether or not he was okay. He said no one would answer me and I just kept asking. As I look at my 7lb. 14oz., 2 month old baby, I realize just how lucky we are. Sweet Pea is perfect and I am truly thankful for him this year.

Granny Comes to Visit!

We have been super busy around the Johnson household these days -- Granny has come to visit! She is pretty smitten with the little man, so much so that she has taken over nighttime duty twice!!! Woo-Hoo!!! We have been running around and working on the little guy's room. I have to say it is going to look super!!!! We are almost done, so be on the look-out for more pictures. I have had my mom chained up in the living room working on bedding for the last two days...I did give her a few days of rest before I started in on her though :)

She has completely spoiled her grandson and bought him18, yes 18 outfits on many shopping excursions in St. Louis so he has been modeling them one at a time! He looks too darn cute and I have taken way too many pictures (though, is there really such a thing as too many?!). Here we are...
We had our wonderful from Kym come over and take some pictures of the family and a few dozen of Connor. She is so sweet and she did such a wonderful job! We got so many cute one, the slide show is coming up next!

Sleep Deprived

WoW! I told my mom last night (I think I may have been asleep standing up while saying this) that you don't understand what sleep deprivation is until you have an baby. She snickered and said I told you so. I have never in my life been so tired! Heaven help me when I return to work! I love Connor and I don't mind getting up with him, but lord have mercy I am a tired momma! After he peed AND pooped on me today I took a shower after bathing him and getting him dressed again, I just laughed when as soon as my body was in the shower he started sqwaking! I told him he needed to hold it for just one minute and give his poor old tired mom a break! He actually listened and kicked his legs on the bed for the rest of my shower like the sweet little man he is :) He is getting better and starting to sleep for longer stretches, the main problem is that when I am "sleeping" I am not holding him and that doesn't seem to suit the little bugster!

So, I have implemented a new "bedtime routine" we shall see what it does! He is so sweet though and I just love him to pieces. I have just been in awe of him the last few days watching him discover all that is around him. He is awake more during the day and it is so fun to watch him see his hand --as if for the first time, every time! He is sweet as can be! Granny D is here for the week to hang out with us! Hence the slacking on posting! More updates to come!

Little Personality

Just a few pictures I liked and a few of them show his every growing personality! This is how he likes to sleep the last two hours of the night, snuggled with momma or daddy! He loves to snuggle -- especially on our chests. We love to hang out and relax!
Seriously Momma, another picture?!
He loves to sleep on his side (in the positioner) and constantly has his sweet hands around his face.
If his hands are not at his face, they are spread out to the side, we often laugh and say he is going "HALLELUJAH!!"
He loves to be swaddled, but HATES to have his arms stuck at his side. He will wiggle them out if he has to. We love this one, he is just saying "Hi!" guys! :)

Photo Shoot With Momma

A few of my favorites...I couldn't help resist sharing, oh fifteen or so of them! One of the highlights of my day, these days, if waking up and picking out Connor's outfit. Much like I do with myself before going to bed, I think about what I want to put him in the next day. I have even changed his outfit before in the middle of the day when I haven't been "satisfied" with his current outfit. Did I really admit that out loud?! So the other day I really thought the little man looked like a stud muffin and I decided to take a few hundred pictures of him! And, I thought I would share the results of my "photo shoot". After seeing my beautiful results, I got really excited for Kymmers to come over and take some this weekend! She is much more talented than myself!

Heavy Weight Champ

CAUTION: USE CARE WHEN LIFTING HEAVY BABY!
So, we had to take Connor to the doctor on Thursday to check his weight gain, to make sure he was still gaining the way he should and to see whether or not we could stop giving him the Zinc supplement. He was 5lb 9oz at the last visit and the doctor mentioned that the scale is different between the hospital and the doctors office -- just so we knew that. The whole way to the doctor's office I kept telling myself that it was okay if he didn't gain weight, or stayed the same, or lost weight (you know because he spit up that morning). So, we get to the office, I take is clothes off and plop in on the scale. I stepped back and saw 6lb 7oz -- I was all, WHAT?! Is my hand still on there?! I was floored, I took a tiny baby to the doctor and went home with a heavy weight chuncker! I am so proud of the little man, I told EVERYONE I saw how much he weighed. I love it -- he is such a stud muffin!
