O' Christmas Tree!

The day after Thanksgiving we went to the tree farm and bought our very first real Christmas tree!!! We had so much fun picking it out and cutting it down, we said it will be our yearly tradition for sure :) Our ceilings are taller in this house than our previous so we said we had to get a beautiful real tree this year.
After searching we found the perfect one! Connor enjoyed riding in the sled through the trees, he thought it was too much fun. He also loved seeing Santa riding around!!
My sweet boys cut it down, put it in the sled and we were off for the shaking and netting! We kept laughing about Christmas Vacation and the squirrel in the tree, ha!! We got it home and up okay and no squirrels!

Bj got the tree all secured and ready for the drive home!

We put the lights up and got the tree in the stand while C was sleeping and got to work decorating after her woke up. It was so much fun, I have seriously loved decorating for the holidays this year. I had some stuff that I didn't even remember buying, ha!! I finished monogramming the tree skirt and stockings over the weekend and everything is coming together. This was C saying "cheese" in front of the tree. I got so excited I forgot to take a picture of the tree all finished!!

Thanksgiving 2010

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving, we hope you did too! We woke up and watched the 2,000 turkey trot runners coming down our street with the neighbors. It was so fun, we were ringing bells and yelling  for everyone. Too fun! We relaxed for awhile and went over to my Uncle's for the first of our two Thanksgiving feasts. This picture cracked me up, how cute is C's coat!? It was my cousins and I thought he looked precious in it :) Thanks Bobby and Patrick! Bj has been calling him "Sir McCartney" because he said he looks like one of the Beatles with his hair. I know it's time for another haircut, I keep forgetting to make an appointment :)

We went to the Johnson's in the evening for our second dinner and then it was home and to bed. It was a wonderful day - we are so thankful for our friends and family. I just had to include the pictures of Connor's "kissmas tree". We used all of the ornaments Nonny bought last year for his birthday centerpieces and he loves it. In this last picture he was showing you two ornaments because he is going to be "2"!!!!

23 Months...

First of all, where did months 18-22 go? How did I miss writing you a little note those months? Oh yeah, momma was a little stressed out between the house and work and this poor little blog took a loss :) Connor Francis, I can't believe that next month you are going to be 2. The big 2! You know how old you are going to be and love telling us. You hold up one finger from each hand to show us your "2"! I love it. I just can't quite get over the fact that I have been your momma for almost two years, you are the best thing that has ever happened to our little family. I knew I loved you the minute I found out about you, saw you, held you - but I just had no idea how much I love you. You know though don't you? To the moon and back! When I ask you - that's just how you answer :) You have grown and changed SO much these last few months. You are talking all the time and your words are starting to change a little. You have the sweetest little voice and you put hand motions with your words, especially when talking about the garbage truck - your true love. You are starting to put more and more two words together. The other day you told me a "story" of how you saw the garbage trucks at Nana's, they beep, beeped at you and the scooper scoops UP the trashcans and DUMPS them down. You run everywhere - you are so full of life and energy, you never stop. It's hilarious - the only time you aren't moving is when you are sleeping. I am thankful you are a good sleeper, you need to refuel after all of your movement!
You are so silly and you have such a wonderful personality. You love to play with your friends, and you love your family. You love to read books, your new favorite is the digger book. You are in love with anything construction related, trucks, garbage trucks, trains, cars -you name it, you love it! I love watching you play, you have started to make vroom vroom noise as you push your trains all over the floor, coffee table, etc. You love to laugh and your laughter is one of the sweetest sounds I have ever heard. You love to watch Yo Gabba Gabba, you request it and you are starting to snuggle in our laps more and watch it :) You love to give hugs and kisses - and you love it when momma, daddy and Connor have group hugs and kisses. Sometimes you push us together and smile when we hug or kiss.
You are such a big helper! You help me in the kitchen, you help me clean, you hand me the pillows when I am making the bed. Nana bought you a vacuum the other day and you love to vacuum. You move so fast, I wish it really worked, I would never have to vacuum again :)

You are an angel, you are a goose, a moose, a little sweet pea.You can be a total stinker and you love to test our patience :) You definitely have the "whine" with a side of "whine" down - we know your lungs work and they work well! You have started to put your own pants on, you are too cute and SOO proud of yourself when you do it. You like to sit in the same spot on the floor to put them on too. You are so curious and you are starting to ask where people and things "went" - where did they go?! You shrug your little shoulders and look so serious. You love to say "happy day!" at the top of your lungs for happy birthday! I just know you are going to have the best birthday ever. We put up your Christmas tree this weekend and you love to look at the lights.
Connor Francis Johnson we love you so much, we are blessed everyday beyond our wildest dreams with you in our lives. We can't wait to celebrate this 2nd birthday with you!!

Baby Bella!

We have been so busy the last few weeks. Oh, and did everyone know that Thanksgiving is next week?!  Where have I been...I kept thinking I had another week in there! Ha! My best friend from high school, Maggie came to visit with her sweet little Bella last week. We were so very excited because Maggie's parents only live down the street from our new house. We were able to walk over several times and hang out with this sweet, sweet girl and her momma! She is such a sweet little girl and C-boogie loved playing with "baby Bella" he loved telling me how she liked to "sleepy sleep". He kept kissing her and wanting me to hold her, it was precious! It was so nice having Mags around, we walked into downtown Webster for lunch, hung out at her house and our house - it was just wonderful. The house next to ours is for sale and I am putting the pressure on them to relocate back to St. Louis, ha!!!

We were nice and busy this weekend finishing up some projects around the house. I am happy to report that we put up the last new light fixture until we re-do the kitchen, and our 1/2 bath finally has a door and a toilet seat!!! My goal is to have everything on the main floor "done" by Connor's birthday party. We are looking good, so hopefully it all works out. I have bought all of my curtain fabric, I just have to start whipping them up!

Happy Halloween!

We hope you had a great Halloween this year! We definitely enjoyed the festivities and trick or treating with this little monkey was so much fun :) We started the celebration on Friday night with a party at the Diehr's house. It was amazing how many kiddos were there, everyone looked so cute and had a great time! Connor had such a fun time (and a few too many "m's") and partied with his momma into the wee hours of the morning! Ha!

We woke up Sunday morning and Connor and I made some orange pancakes and eggs for breakfast. We got some stuff done around the house and Bj and I put our chili on the stove for our little gathering that evening! We had Nonny, Uncle Davey, NeNe, Nana and Grandpa over for dinner and some trick or treating. It was o fun and I think a tradition for years to come :)
We carved our pumpkins (we think we might need to do a little better next year though, haha!) and had a chili cook-off (Bj with regular chili, Ellen with white chicken chili) and waited to pick the little monkey in his costume.

He was SO cute and had so much fun trick or treating! He didn't want to keep his monkey had on for anything but we will keep him :) Nonny found his costume last weekend at the lake and it was perfect, thanks Nonny!

Please ignore how gross Momma looks, I was busy all day :) This little boy had the best time! His little friend from down the street came over and they played with the candy. He marched up and down the street and said "trick or treat" and "happy day" to get his candy. It was precious!!!
What a better way to end the night, with a kit kat?! Ha! He stayed up on the porch with us while we waited for the trick or treaters and he loved seeing all the costumes. The only thing he wasn't sure about was everyone taking the candy from the bowl, ha! We hope you enjoyed your day as much as we did!
