The MOTHER of all holidays...

My babies and I!
I am going to start out by saying...I can't believe I am a momma! My first mothers day - it was a wonderful day. I want to also thank Connor for being the most amazing baby in the whole entire world and the reason that mother's day exists for me. And to my sweet husband who helped me bring Connor into this world - and treated me like a princess on "my day". To my mother-in-law for raising such a wonderful son and my mom for putting up with me - thank you and happy mothers day!

Connor woke up about 4:45am on Sunday morning to eat and I was already giddy - and the sun wasn't even up. I fed him, taking a little longer than usual, and could tell that he was asleep but not totally out. I thought what the hell, its my day and I brought him in bed with me and the dogs. (Bj was out of town - arriving home later that day. Coincidentaly texting me as I was getting up to get little man, it was kind of funny) We just snuggled in bed, he was laughing and "petting" the dogs and just being sweet. I think we both dozed in and out for a little while and just enjoyed our momma and baby time. We picked daddy up at the airport and came on home. Unfortunately daddy had to go to work - but he, Connor and the doggies present me with sweet cards (I cried!) and my kelty sunshade for the beach!!!Connor and I just hung out and packed the rest of the day - and it was perfect. I was so emotional all day and just happy to have my little man in my life. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family and I really try to remember that every single day. I may be tired and have a less tidy house than before I was a momma - but none of that matters when I see my little family. I hope that I grow into a wonderful mom to my baby and I already can't wait to celebrate mothers day next year!

Going "bye-bye" in the car!

Ah - I was blessed with a wonderful little boy, but somehow he did not receive the memo that it's really fun to go for rides in the car. He is the exact opposite of his furry bother and sister as they LOVE going for rides. You just look at them and say "you wanna GO get ____" and they are all over it. They won't let you out of their sight until they are safely in the back seat. Connor on the other hand starts crying almost immediately upon being placed in the car. He liked in when he first came home - but not so much anymore. I should back that up - he LOVES it as long as I am sitting in the backseat hanging out with him! The little stinker. He loves the stroller because I am staring right at him and chatting at him - so I thought maybe I will put his mirror up and he can stare at his cute face. The one we got even plays rain forest music - but he still hates. So, I guess we will just have to RIDE it out and see what happens. I think with enough practice he will get used to it and realize it's not as bad as all that. All I can say is thank goodness Granny is coming out and flying him to St. Louis as this momma would not survive 12 hours in the car with cranky Connor!

Why My House Looks Like This...

If the boxes and bubble wrap didn't give it away...we are moving to St. Louis!!! Approximately 10 minutes after Connor was born we realized our hearts were in the Lou - there was no other place we wanted to raise our babies. So, we got to thinking and realized now was as good a time as any to start the process. We contacted Jason, our realtor, put the house on the market and started applying for jobs. About four weeks after we put the house on the market (April 12, 2009 - The day we bought our house two years ago, Daddy's birthday and Easter) a young couple came through and despite the fact that I locked my baby and dogs IN the car, in the driveway while they were looking at the house, they put an offer in and we accepted! After the inspection and appraisal going great - we are a go and the deal closes on May 28th. Whew - one step in the process down.

We have been looking for jobs - I love my company and am looking into transferring to McGraw Hill Education. I interviewed for the job in March and am keeping my fingers crossed they think I am a great fit for the job. We shall see! Bj has been home and interviewed with a few different companies and fingers crossed he will find the right position for him! We are leaving on May 20th and moving in with Granny D until after the dust settles. We are going to pay off our remaining debt and look for our perfect little home in Webster Groves.

We are really excited and we are so looking forward to the next chapter in our lives. Colorado holds so many memories for us - starting our relationship, getting engaged, buying our first house, and having our first baby. We have made great friends and seen a beautiful part of the country. We know we will miss it - but anxiously awaiting the Christmas mornings with the families, Cardinals games, Sunday dinners and soccer games where the whole family can attend. We want Connor to grow up knowing his extended family and sharing in the memories and traditions that are so important to Bj and I. I think I am a little overwhelmed with all that needs to be done - but I know we will finish everything. My sweet mother-in-law is flying out next week and helping us back up the breakables and my mom is flying out on Tuesday night and flying home with Connor Francis Wednesday morning. Both HUGE helpful and time-saving things and I don't think I have enough words to thank either one of them.

So, be on the look-out for many posts and updates as we bid farewell to the beautiful state of Colorado!

"And the little one said...Roll Over...Roll Over..."

Yep - the little man rolled over today!! It was more a shock - he wasn't intending to roll over - but it still counts in proud momma and daddy's eyes. I put him in his playpen for a little tummy time and lately he has liked to PUSH up as far as he can and look around - he is especially enamored with the polka dots on the inside of his playpen. So, he was PUSHING up and all of a sudden he just rolled over on to his back. It was amazing - the look on his face was amazing. I am such a dork, I rolled him back and let him do it again- and he did!! I then screamed and laughed and danced a little - he laughed and screamed too! :)

I think it could be a little while longer before he is doing it on purpose and often - but it was pretty fun. I have noticed that he is moving around and rolling more on the changing table - aahh! I have a feeling months down the road I am going to long for the days I could plop him anywhere and run to the bathroom or grab something to eat. But in the moment I love it - I love watching him accomplish each little thing in his life. All the little steps that will lead to crawling, walking and running. It is just so amazing - these little rugrats are so amazing!

Little Boy - Big Bed

We have a picture of C on the bed when he was even smaller and you have to squint to find him. It's pretty funny. What's even funnier is when we all snuggle in bed - Me, hubby, baby, and two furry babies. We like it though we are a close knit family!
I thought this little profile was cute - you can see his right hand flexed. I think without a doubt that is one of my favorite things he does. I had never noticed it before Connor and all babies to it when they are hungry their fists are flexed and tight up by their face. They eat better, feel safe and look precious. Looking at his profile it is amazing how much he has changed from the day he entered the world.

SERIOUSly Cute

All I have to say about gangster baby is that right after he made this face, he lifted up his legs, and let out a huge toot. I might have fallen off the couch I was laughing so hard - he also thought it was pretty funny!

Giggle-Monster

On Monday (April 5, 2009) Connor had the biggest giggle attack we have ever heard! It was by far one of the best sounds I have ever heard. Bj was sitting in the chair and I was holding Connor - I sat down on the arm of the chair and we started chatting. Whatever we were talking about must have been HILARIOUS because Connor just couldn't stop laughing. It was a deep breath - all out - can't stop laugh fest. He is just so darn cute I can't stand it. He has been laughing for awhile and loves to "call and answer" but it is so fun watching and listening to him. Someone stopped me in the store the other day and said she enjoyed listening to him talk. She said usually boy aren't that chatty so young and she said we are in for a talkative little man. I was shocked - I have NO idea where he would get that from! Ha, poor Daddy has no idea what he is in store for. I am not sure if he can handle two super chatty family members!
