First Plane Ride!

Connor took his first plane ride on February 23rd and he went to St. Louis! He had a few relatives in the Lou that were kind of dying to meet him! I am going to brag on my baby for a minute...he was PERFECT on the plane. Not a peep out of him the whole time, both ways! We were so impressed. We weren't sure what to expect, but he slept the whole way and was pretty much the perfect baby. We met a couple from St. Louis on the shuttle traveling with a 1.5 year old and she even commented when we landed how quiet he was!

My friends The Petty's were WONDERFUL and gave us all of their baby stuff from their two sweet daughters. I admit I didn't pay much attention to the stroller until we opened it up at the airport. We were saving some of the stuff like the car seat and strollers to take home to St. Louis for the Grandparents to use. Well, needless to say, the stroller came home with us. I love it! A baby trend one, I highly recommend it! I thought the picture of us traveling with all our stuff was pretty funny! We kind of needed a few more things traveling with baby than we normally do! We fit everything perfectly and I have to say it was super easy to travel with him this time. We shall see how well he does next time!

We had an amazing time in St. Louis, it was so fun to see all of our family and friends. I have a huge post with tons and tons of pictures coming! Enjoy!

Sweet Dreams Little Man

The nursery!!!! It is finally ALMOST finished! I just have a pillow and table topper to make and I have to hang stuff on the walls. Other than that it is done!!! I chained my poor mom to the sewing machine the week she was here -- but we got it all done! The bedding, curtains, chair, ottoman, pillows, blanket, basket liners, letters and night light! WHEW, I am tired just thinking about it. It is amazing how different this room looks as the sweet pea's little room. I have to say that I love it. My mom did an amazing job and I am so thankful for her help, I would have never been able to do this on my own. I think it looks just the way a sweet little boy's nursery should! What do you think?!The whole room -- it looks pretty great!

The crib -- I tried to get a close-up so you could see the bedding!
His letters! They go above his crib
He is so smart already, look at all those books!
The rocking chair and end table. That will eventually have a table topper on it! We spend lots of time rocking and reading during the day.
The window in between the rocking chair and dresser/changing table
His dresser and changing table! You can't tell, but that dresser is chock full of clothes for the little sweet pea!

Hernia Man

I have recently realized that I have not told anyone about Connor's hernia. I am so used to it and see it everyday that I forget he has it sometimes. About a week after we got home, we realized that Connor was starting to get a little gassy, and one day his belly button looked a little larger than normal. We thought it was strange but waited to call the doctor because he didn't seem upset by it. Lo and behold, the next day it has completely popped out resulting in a hernia. I called the doctor and she didn't seem at all worried and said, oh it must be a hernia, very common in babies. I had never heard of such a thing! I of course went straight to the computer and it looks harmless. The doctor just said we needed to make sure it would smoosh back in and we would just watch it for the next year. Hopefully it will correct itself, if not, he will have to have surgery. We are keeping our fingers crossed that it fixes itself on its own, I don't know how well Momma will react to the surgery news. I mean...I have been with him through shots but this is the same Momma who hid in the bathroom at the hospital when they changed his feeding tubes. Though at the last visit, I looked at the doctor and said "really, that thing is going to correct itself?!" and she looked at me and said, "he might need surgery after all." Oh well, nothing we can't handle! We think it's pretty cute and often refer to him as "Hernia Man" or "Hern Dog!"

Photo Shoot With Kymmers!

My sweet friend Kym was kind enough to give up her Saturday to come and hang out with us! She had offered before Connor arrived to take some pictures of him in his first few days -- I took her up on the offer, he was just a little bit over a few days old! We held her captive for most of the day on Saturday and had such a great time getting some pictures taken. I really love the ones of the little guy, he just looks precious. I don't think it was Sunday night before I had the cd in hand and I had already ordered $20.00 worth of pictures from Walgreens. I mean, I just couldn't help myself! I just have a sampling below...if I ever get my act together you will all be receiving an actual picture of him with his birth announcement. At the rate I move these days though, no promises!

Colorado Shower!

We had a lovely shower all scheduled and ready to go with our Colorado friends, The Crask's and The Burch's were kind enough to throw us one! Well, as luck would have it, I would already be in the hospital before we could enjoy it. I was so proud of myself, I had already bought my cute preggy dress to wear, so on top of things! We had to reschedule until after the little man arrived, but it was just perfect! We got together on the 13th of February, left Connor with Granny, and had a really nice time! Momma even enjoyed a few glasses of wine :) It was also kind of fun to celebrate Connor and not "the baby" at one of the showers! Thanks so much everyone, we had a wonderful time!

Busy Worker Bee's...

I have to say that it is among my many Lenten promises to get back to regular posting! We have been SO SUPER BUSY around these parts lately and I have just not been able to get to the computer as much as I would like. Our laptop power cord is totally dead and makes it very difficult to get to the computer when it is ALL THE WAY DOWNSTAIRS! :) So, I vow to be better...enjoy the next few catch-up posts!
