Sleep Deprived

WoW! I told my mom last night (I think I may have been asleep standing up while saying this) that you don't understand what sleep deprivation is until you have an baby. She snickered and said I told you so. I have never in my life been so tired! Heaven help me when I return to work! I love Connor and I don't mind getting up with him, but lord have mercy I am a tired momma! After he peed AND pooped on me today I took a shower after bathing him and getting him dressed again, I just laughed when as soon as my body was in the shower he started sqwaking! I told him he needed to hold it for just one minute and give his poor old tired mom a break! He actually listened and kicked his legs on the bed for the rest of my shower like the sweet little man he is :) He is getting better and starting to sleep for longer stretches, the main problem is that when I am "sleeping" I am not holding him and that doesn't seem to suit the little bugster!

So, I have implemented a new "bedtime routine" we shall see what it does! He is so sweet though and I just love him to pieces. I have just been in awe of him the last few days watching him discover all that is around him. He is awake more during the day and it is so fun to watch him see his hand --as if for the first time, every time! He is sweet as can be! Granny D is here for the week to hang out with us! Hence the slacking on posting! More updates to come!

Little Personality

Just a few pictures I liked and a few of them show his every growing personality! This is how he likes to sleep the last two hours of the night, snuggled with momma or daddy!He loves to snuggle -- especially on our chests. We love to hang out and relax!

He loves to sleep on his side (in the positioner) and constantly has his sweet hands around his face.

If his hands are not at his face, they are spread out to the side, we often laugh and say he is going "HALLELUJAH!!"
He loves to be swaddled, but HATES to have his arms stuck at his side. He will wiggle them out if he has to. We love this one, he is just saying "Hi!" guys! :)

Photo Shoot With Momma

A few of my favorites...I couldn't help resist sharing, oh fifteen or so of them! One of the highlights of my day, these days, if waking up and picking out Connor's outfit. Much like I do with myself before going to bed, I think about what I want to put him in the next day. I have even changed his outfit before in the middle of the day when I haven't been "satisfied" with his current outfit. Did I really admit that out loud?! So the other day I really thought the little man looked like a stud muffin and I decided to take a few hundred pictures of him! And, I thought I would share the results of my "photo shoot". After seeing my beautiful results, I got really excited for Kymmers to come over and take some this weekend! She is much more talented than myself!

Heavy Weight Champ

CAUTION: USE CARE WHEN LIFTING HEAVY BABY!

So, we had to take Connor to the doctor on Thursday to check his weight gain, to make sure he was still gaining the way he should and to see whether or not we could stop giving him the Zinc supplement. He was 5lb 9oz at the last visit and the doctor mentioned that the scale is different between the hospital and the doctors office -- just so we knew that. The whole way to the doctor's office I kept telling myself that it was okay if he didn't gain weight, or stayed the same, or lost weight (you know because he spit up that morning). So, we get to the office, I take is clothes off and plop in on the scale. I stepped back and saw 6lb 7oz -- I was all, WHAT?! Is my hand still on there?! I was floored, I took a tiny baby to the doctor and went home with a heavy weight chuncker! I am so proud of the little man, I told EVERYONE I saw how much he weighed. I love it -- he is such a stud muffin!

My Due Date

Hard to believe that TODAY was the day I thought I would give birth. Another of many lessons in life and it not always going the way you would think. It is crazy how fast the whole experience has gone. I remember it like it was yesterday, finding out we were pregnant, telling everyone, getting the room ready and then all of a sudden we were in the hospital and Connor Francis Johnson arrived six weeks early. It is just wild that instead of spending today possibly in labor, I am spending it with my nearly six week old baby boy. Even after all the tears and fear during out two month stay in the hospital, I wouldn't trade it for the world. I love my little boy and our expanded family more than anything in the world.
We were laying in bed this morning (Bj laying down, me next to him, Connor asleep on my chest, the dogs flanking either side) and Bj looks over at me and says, "this is it, isn't it?" I couldn't help but smile as I looked at him and said, "yes...this is it, just the way it should be."

Visitors!

We were spoiled yet again this weekend with Aunt Steph, Aunt Jen and Ashley's visit this past weekend! We were so excited to see them and I think they were pretty excited to meet Connor Man! I am pretty sure he charmed both of them -- Aunt Jen almost took him home in her suitcase!

We had such a wonderful time hanging out, eating, holding the little guy and shopping! Aunt Steph and I snuck away on Saturday and did some shopping (shocking and hard to believe, I know!) and got some great deals on cute clothes for Connor and Baby K. I think between the two of them, they already have more clothes than we do! They are going to be two stylish babies, I know that for sure! Jen, Ashley and Brian went to dinner at Bj's and some perusing on Pearl Street while Steph and I hung out with Connor. It was really nice! I had a little time with Steph and I and a little time with Jen and the family! It was perfect and couldn't have worked out better. We took about 400 pictures -- another huge surprise! Connor wrote Aunt Jen a note saying how much he loves her and asking if she would be his godmother! She accepted and now the little guy has Uncle Dave as a godfather and Aunt Jen as a godmother. He is awfully lucky if you ask me!

Connor was great! I don't think his back touched anything but the back of someones arms the whole time they were here. He loves to snuggle and it was so nice to have a few extra sets of hands to snuggle him with. I think he only kept them up a little bit in the middle of the night too, so that was good! Poor Steph came in to snuggle with us after Bj went to work on Friday and saw me standing over Connor's bassinet in a t-shirt and crazy hair -- going "my boobs hurt and I am really tired..." she took one look at me and offered to feed Connor while I slept for a few more minutes. It was awfully sweet of her, I told her we were breaking her in for Baby K! The little bugster likes to sleep by day, party by night these days :) Now that we are visitor-less we are just hanging out, getting the house back together. We are looking forward to our next visit from Granny and the Danieley L 103 reunion!!

One Month Stats

I forgot to include this in the last post...

We went to the doctor for Connor's one month check-up and here are his "stats"...

Weight: 5lb. 90z.

Length: 18.5in.

Everything looks great! He is gaining weight just the way he should and we are so proud of him! He has finally learned to eat like his momma it looks like! Way to go little man!
